About the Area
The main suburbs located in the south eastern corridor of Perth consist of Belmont, Welshpool & Kewdale. The area has a wide range of facilities ranging from Office, Retail and shopping centres in Belmont to the heavy industrial properties of Welshpool & Kewdale.
The area has the advantage of being very accessible to all parts of the metropolitan region via main arterial roads like Great Eastern, Tonkin, Leach and Roe Highways plus Orrong Road and Graham Farmer Freeway. This gives good access to the Domestic Airport located in Redcliffe which is only minutes away, the International Airport located in Kewdale, the Kewdale Freight Terminal being the rail access and the Port of Fremantle for shipping containers.
Belmont’s business precinct is only located some 10 minutes from the Perth CBD and provides an excellent and cheaper alternative to CBD offices with car parking in greater supply. This has seen an increase of businesses ranging from headquarters of multi-national companies to small sole traders establishing themselves in the area.
Businesses are attracted to the industrial areas of Kewdale & Welshpool due to the good access for trucks, the airports, freight terminal and the Port of Fremantle not being too far away. The industrial area is expanding into nearby suburbs of Forrestfield and Hazelmere plus more land near the airports is being provided.
The developments in the area are always improving with old buildings been refurbished and construction of new buildings are to a high standard. This along with the excellent location ensures that this area remains one of Perth premier Commercial & Industrial precincts.
